ISMcte1 is 67% aa similar to ISBli8.
ISMcte1 was found in a section of the draft genome of Micrococcus terreus strain 1AStreptC4R3 which was isolated on R2A-streptomycin agar from a faecal sample derived from a healthy farm horse. Two identical copies of ISMcte1 were found 7143 bp apart, with a section of transposon Tn21 inside them, which itself contained a class 1 integron (no gene cassettes) and a copy of IS1326. It is likely that the whole structure is a composite transposon although since the 4-bp direct repeats are identical at all four IS ends involved, this cannot be confirmed on the basis of the sequence alone. The mobilised region is 99% identical to In0 from Pseudomonas plasmid pVS1.
