ISMmg4 is 73% aa similar to ISRso17. ISMmg4 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS701 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-99-D(N3)-154-E(C1). The copy number in Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1 is 1.
